Video: Dreamtigers “Fools”

It’s like the old saying goes, you can only count on three things in life: death, taxes and quality video content from Live & Reel. Or something like that. This month, the Nashville video blog offered a bonus feature on the Massachusetts band Dreamtigers – an indie folk outfit worth a listen. Below is the video for their song “Fools” from a 7″ that the band released at the end of 2010. If you like what you see here, be sure to check out Live & Reel’s session with Majestico. The pair of videos does not disappoint.

Video: Oreo Jones & Action Jackson “Black Fabio”

Last year, Indianapolis musicians Oreo Jones and Ben Action Jackson unleashed their project Black Fabio. The initial inspiration came from Jones’ Halloween costume of the same name. Donning blonde wigs and toting a heavy dose of the funk, the dynamic duo are back with a fresh new video for their title track. Check out the results below. Indy natives will recognize many local cameos from Salon Rue 52 to Indy CD & Vinyl. Download a free copy of the track and watch the video, here:

Fresh Track + Video: Faces on Film “Waiting for GA”

Shaking Through is a documentary video series about the birth of a song. Each year, the project challenges 10 musicians to take a song from the first track to the final mix in two days. Afterwards, the project releases the track along with some incredible behind-the-scenes footage of the recording process. The quality of the recording and video footage is top notch. Last summer, Shaking Through worked with Bloomington’s Dreamers of the Ghetto to record the track “Heavy Love.”

As curator for this month’s episode, Marissa Nadler chose Mike Fiore, whose project Faces on Film was recently featured in our Band to Watch post. Nadler appears on backing vocals for the new track “Waiting for GA.” Visit Shaking Through for several documentary-style videos revealing the process and personalities behind the music. Stream the track and watch one of the videos below.
