Video: DMA & Oreo Jones “The John Wayne”

Indianapolis musicians David Moose Adamson (DMA) and emcee Oreo Jones dropped a video for their new track “The John Wayne” over the weekend. DMA’s focus has centered around electronic music since the disbanding of his previous project JOOKABOX last year. The video was put together in collaboration with the Heavy Gun and the Rad Summer crews, and can be found below. The beat is dope and Oreo never disappoints on his delivery. Catch the duo live and in the flesh at one of the tour dates listed below:

3/9 – Indianapolis, IN – The Group Home
3/10 – Louisville, KY – Zanzabar
3/11 – Nashville, TN – Dino’s
3/12 – Little Rock, AR – Rad Rad Rad House
3/15 – Houston, TX – Belvedere
3/16 – Austin, TX – TBA
3/17 – Austin, TX – TBA
3/18 – Austin, TX – TBA

Fresh Track + Video: Charlie Patton’s War “Say Ya Mine”

Few books, a lot of beer and mostly basketball make up the DNA of Indiana University. While the core grows stronger as we enter March Madness, Bloomington can also be known for a musical project inebriated with the blues.  Charlie Patton’s War is a Bloomington based band that was formed in 2010 when all members met at the Jacob’s School of Music.  The band released Live at Russian Recording earlier this year, which highlights their dedication to the doldrums. Hoosier hopes are high not only for hoops, but for Charlie Patton’s War as we enter March.  Watch the video for “Say Ya Mine” recorded and filmed in the basement of The Hideaway. Grab a free download of Live at Russian Recording via Bandcamp.

Fresh Track: Craft Spells “Still Left With Me”

Craft Spells burst onto the scene last year with the underrated Idle Labor, my own personal #10 LP of 2011.  Apparently not satisfied with their initial success, the band will be releasing a new EP entitled Gallery on May 15th via Captured Tracks.  The first track off the record, “Still Left With Me”, was released late last week and picks up right where their first album left off with that same great electro dream pop sound.  Having had the privilege to have caught them live last year, if you see them on the lineup poster for your favorite summer festival, be sure to mark them down as a must see.  Check the track list for Gallery and a stream of “Still Left With Me” below.

1. Still Left with Me
2. Warmth
3. Burst
4. Leave My Shadow
5. Sun Trails
6. Gallery
