Video: Dirty Projectors “Gun Has No Trigger” (Live at Williamsburg Music Hall)
Today marks the release of Dirty Projectors‘ sensational new LP Swing Lo Magellan on Domino Records. Yesterday, Pitchfork posted Grayson Currin’s phenomenal review and named the album “Best New Music”, proving that the music blogging behemoth still, occasionally, gets it right. Last night, The Bowery Presents, offered fans the opportunity to live stream the band’s performance at Williamsburg Music Hall via YouTube (watch the entire show). I watched, slack-jawed, from my computer in Indianapolis, struggling to comprehend how the vocals could be so pitch perfect throughout.
Below, watch Dirty Projectors’ rendition of Swing Lo Magellan‘s lead single “Gun Has No Trigger.” The video is just a snippet of what has quickly become one of my favorite releases of the year. Watch as frontman Dave Longstreth careening vocals wobble confidently over the hypnotic siren’s call of the background singers.

This is one of my favourite releases so far this year. I’m not sure if it tops Beach House, but it’s definitely up there.
It’s defintely a fun one! Thanks for stopping by Brennan.
