Fresh Track: Voodoo Sunshine “Bad Hangover”
If you live in Indianapolis, chances are you’re suffering from a wicked case of “The Tuesdays” this morning. We’ve just gotten through what the rest of the country refers to as Memorial Day weekend. Around here, the aforementioned marathon is known simply as “race weekend.” Many Hoosiers spent their 3-day siesta surviving record high temperatures, the deafening roar of open-wheel engines and guzzling enough cheap beer to drown a large sorority.
On Friday, Indianapolis natives Voodoo Sunshine ushered in race weekend by celebrating the release of their debut EP Somethin to Say at Locals Only. The band blends classic rock, funk and a bit of So-Cal punk à la Red Hot Chili Peppers to form a sound that packs a muscular punch suitable for a soundtrack of Speedway debauchery. Their song “Bad Hangover” serves as an appropriate starting point to the Tuesday after the track. Download the entirety of Somethin to Say for free at Voodoo Sunshine’s website.
