Fresh Track: Monophonics “There’s A Riot Going On”

Monophonics have been supplying the Bay Area with a steady stream of psychedelic funk for the better part of the last decade. The longtime instrumental outfit has recently expanded to include the vocal stylings of keyboardist Kelly Finnigan. The decision is a sound one, and moves the project from your typical horn-driven, Afrobeat groove to something more dynamic. Monophonics will release In Your Brain on Ubiquity Records May 15.
