Video: Father John Misty (Live at KEXP)

In between twitter rants and releasing one of my personal favorite albums this year in Fear Fun, Josh Tillman aka Father John Misty had some time to drop by the KEXP studios in Seattle to record a live session.  And guess what?  It’s 25 minutes of solid gold sound.  So kick off your 3-day weekend with your recreation of your choice and some Father John.

Video: MarQ Spekt & Kno “Wikileaks”

MarQ Spekt teamed up with Atlanta producer Kno for one of the best albums for 2011, Machete Vision.  While Machete Vision was released over 6 months ago, it’s an album that’s still gaining momentum and still feels fresh.  It doesn’t even seem strange that they’re just now releasing the first official video for the album’s closing track “Wikileaks”.  Spekt’s wordplay-rich verse details how having too much knowledge can lead to paranoia.  If you like the video, you can grab the album for $6.

Video: Tedeschi Trucks Band “Everybody’s Talkin'” (Harry Nilsson Cover)

Veteran readers of this blog (all three of you) know that I am a big-time Derek Trucks fan. My proclivity for the blues, particularly the slide variety, has led to a belief that Trucks is the greatest living guitarist. He wields his instrument as an extension of himself in a way that’s unlike any other artist that I’ve had the pleasure to witness first hand. Below, watch Tedeschi Trucks Band‘s rendition of the Harry Nilsson classic “Everybody’s Talkin’.”  The song is featured as the title track of the band’s new live album, released today. Grab tickets to Tedeschi Trucks Band at Murat Theatre on May 30 in Indianapolis.
